AI in Production
AI is a controversial topic today. Beyond concerns about data centers, environmental impact, and power use, there is also debate about its authenticity in art. To me, AI is simply a tool—one that can be used well or misused. Artists may choose to use it or not, but using AI does not make someone an artist if they were not one already. The real distinction is between letting AI create a vision and using AI to bring your own vision to life. At this stage, AI is largely derivative. It draws from existing data and produces work based on what came before, with limited ability to create something truly new or novel. But I would argue the same has always been true of art and music. Very little in the world is entirely original, and it is hard to name a song that was not influenced by earlier music in some way. I have always embraced new technology, especially tools that make it easier and faster to bring ideas to life. So when AI became available, I was eager to experiment with it. Cue the mad scientist!
