About
James Amos, Assoc. AIA
Multidisciplinary creative working at the intersection of space, sound, and image.
I work across architecture, design, music, and film — not as separate disciplines, but as a single continuous practice. The same questions that drive a spatial project inform a composition; the same instinct for tension and release shapes both a building section and a film score.
Trained as an architect, I've spent the last decade expanding that foundation into adjacent territories. The built environment remains central — but so does the sonic, the cinematic, and the graphic. Each discipline sharpens the others.
My work tends toward the monumental and the intimate simultaneously. Large gestures, precise details. Silence as much as sound. The spaces between things.

How I work
Every project begins with a question, not a brief. The brief comes later — after listening, after looking, after understanding what the work actually needs to do. I work slowly and deliberately, with long periods of research and short, intense periods of making.
Available for commissions and collaborations.
